Requirements:

To apply for the position of Purchasing Agent, a high school diploma is required. A college degree and 5-10 years of related work experience, along with proficiency in professional English, are preferred. The role involves performing purchasing and administrative tasks, supporting data entry, and managing the acquisition of materials and services.

Strong PC skills are necessary, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel), Sesame Database System, and Great Plains/Dynamics Accounting Software. The ideal candidate should also possess strong mathematical skills with a high degree of precision and excellent telephone etiquette.

The ability to interact professionally with suppliers, strong negotiation skills, and the capacity to multitask in a dynamic environment with changing priorities are essential.

Additionally, candidates should have excellent organizational skills and be detail-oriented to ensure efficient procurement processes and accurate documentation.

 Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include the purchase of all materials, such as raw materials and supplies, as per requirements. Management of external services, like cleaning and photocopying, is also part of the role. Additionally, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for preparing and monitoring tool manufacturing and repair orders and updating open purchase orders daily/weekly while ensuring purchase order accuracy.

Another aspect of the role involves maintaining raw material cost records in Excel for sales quotes, issuing quote requests for various materials and tools, and quality approval of incoming fabrics and inserts. The Purchasing Agent is also tasked with maintaining a quality system for purchasing in accordance with DC TS requirements.

Furthermore, the position involves negotiation with suppliers to obtain the best prices and conditions, coordinating Supplier Corrective Actions issued from the Quality Department, preparing quarterly supplier evaluation reports, and updating the list of approved suppliers. AS9100 supplier files are also maintained, including configuration of new suppliers, NDA, SQM, and Iso cert.

Additionally, the Purchasing Agent is involved in AS9100 annual audits, coordinating and tracking cost avoidance and savings, assisting with quarterly inventory counts, updating VOC usage, managing inventory and maintenance of first aid and office supplies, tracking all logistics and truck shipments daily, and configuring and coordinating material for direct shipments.
