Requirements:
As our ideal candidate for the Avionics Engineer position, you should have a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, preferably with experience in electrical systems design/avionics or a related field.
A working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification standards (FAA, EASA, TCCA) is an advantage, as well as cybersecurity and system security certification aspects.
You should have mastery of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) and you should be trained in Engineering Design for Six Sigma or Six Sigma Processes.
A working knowledge of CFR Part 25 aircraft electrical, avionics, and wiring harness design guidelines is preferred. You must be a self-starter and able to break down moderately complex projects into individual tasks and processes.
Responsibilities:
With guidance, create system schematics, requirements documents, system descriptions, interface documents, wiring diagrams, certification plans, issuance documents, functional test requirements, test plans, test reports, and design compliance reports for new and/or upgraded aircraft systems.
Review installation drawings, qualification test data and reports, and support change management through investigations, concepts, design reviews, business studies, impact analysis, and implementation.
Demonstrate compliance with the aircraft requirements of 14 CFR Part 25, Transport Canada, and EASA.
Research specifications for component selection. Work with internal suppliers and customers to assist with production and/or flight test staffing, research, troubleshooting, and resolving build and test issues, requiring extensive coordination with internal suppliers and support groups.
