Requirements:
The Shift Supervisor is a key component of achieving results in manufacturing. Their responsibilities include clearly communicating job expectations, planning and monitoring performance, guiding and disciplining employees, and implementing and enforcing systems and policies. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; demonstrated experience planning, scheduling, and organizing the work of shift personnel, working closely with management, and setting up and adjusting machinery to ensure proper production.
They must be proficient in operations, setups, and material changeovers specific to elastomeric diaphragm manufacturing. They must be skilled in managing material supply to ensure uninterrupted process flow and have knowledge of documentation processes for rejected parts, efficiently coordinating with the next steps in the candidate process. Additionally, the ability to perform minor repairs and machine adjustments as needed is a plus.
Experience in troubleshooting issues related to various process steps. Capability to direct, instruct, assist, and train employees on schedules, methods, procedures, and performance standards. Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations, ensuring compliance among personnel. Experience in issuing warnings and handling safety-related matters appropriately.
Strong communication skills for daily interactions with other shift supervisors. English proficiency. Ability to ensure accurate completion of required paperwork by employees.
Responsibilities:
Assign machine operations, setups, material changes necessary to manufacture elastomeric diaphragms. May make necessary machine setups or adjustments to produce the required parts. Ensure machines are supplied with materials necessary to complete the process step. Ensure rejected parts are correctly documented and passed to the next process step. May make minor machine repairs and adjustments. Troubleshoot problems with any of the process steps.
Plan, schedule and arrange the work of shift employees with the manager. Direct, instruct, assist, train and check work of employees relative to schedules, methods, procedures, and standards of work performance, adhering to company regulations, policies, procedures or other matters affecting their work. Ensure safety rules and regulations are being followed. Issue warnings as appropriate. Ensure all required paperwork is correctly and accurately completed by the employees. Communicate with other shift supervisors daily; Prioritize tasks with the process engineering group
Respond to machine alarms as necessary. Ensure tooling changes, cleaning, adjustments are conducted in a timely manner with prioritization as necessary.Ensure high quality of parts shipped.
Responsible building security, answering outside calls, and signing for received parts, material deliveries and for opening or closing of plant at beginning or end of shift. Verifying that necessary equipment is started or shut down. Ensure work areas and equipment are maintained in a clean, orderly and safe condition. Perform other related duties as required.
